Brett Wallace went 3-for-3 with an RBI and Carlos Lee also knocked in a run for the victors.

Jake Westbrook (1-3) absorbed the loss for the Redbirds, allowing three runs on nine hits over seven frames.

St. Louis entered the game in second place in the National League Central, five games behind Cincinnati.
