MLB: Houston 3, Philadelphia 2

Halladay (16-9) had won his previous six starts but he gave up three runs in seven innings. The setback kept Philadelphia 2 1/2 games behind division-leading Atlanta in the National League East.

J.A. Happ, traded by Philadelphia to Houston in July as part of the deal that sent Roy Oswalt to the Phillies, defeated his former team. Happ (4-2) allowed two runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Hunter Pence gave Houston a 1-0 lead with his 20th homer in the fourth and Jayson Werth tied it in the fifth with a blast of his own.

Michael Bourn's second homer put the Astros back in front in the sixth and Philadelphia again tied it on Placido Polanco's RBI double in the bottom half of the inning.

Chris Johnson delivered a one-out double off Halladay in the seventh and Quintero singled on a 1-0 pitch with two away, bringing home Johnson.
