MLB: New York Yankees 10, Seattle 0

NEW YORK, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Robinson Cano connected for a grand slam and CC Sabathia pitched six scoreless innings Sunday in the New York Yankees' 10-0 rout of Seattle.

Cano's fifth-inning slam put the Yanks ahead 5-0 and he added a two-run single in the next frame, finishing the day with six RBI as New York took the rubber match of a three-game set with the Mariners at Yankee Stadium.

Jorge Posada and Austin Kearns added homers for New York, which began the day one game ahead of Tampa Bay atop the American League East.

Sabathia (17-5) notched his AL-best 17th win, scattering three hits, walking none and striking out six.

Mariners starter Luke French (2-4) was touched for five runs on five hits over five innings.
