MLB: Oakland 4, Kansas City 3

OAKLAND, Calif., Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Brett Anderson allowed only three hits over seven innings and Kevin Kouzmanoff drove in two runs Wednesday in the Oakland A's 4-3 decision over Kansas City.

Anderson (3-2), making his second start since coming off the disabled list, limited the Royals two runs, walking one and striking out four.

Michael Wuertz picked up his fourth save of the year by striking out the side in the ninth.

Kouzmanoff's two-run double in the sixth capped a four-run outburst that saw the A's erase a 2-0 deficit.

Sean O'Sullivan (1-2) took the loss in his third start since being acquired by the Royals from the Los Angeles Angels last month, giving up four runs (three earned) on six hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Yuniesky Betancourt hit a solo homer for Kansas City.
