MLB: Florida 4, San Diego 2

SAN DIEGO, July 31 (UPI) -- Cody Ross and Gaby Sanchez hit solo homers Friday and the Florida Marlins got an almost perfect four innings from their bullpen in downing San Diego 4-2.

Burke Badenhop came on to relieve Chris Volstad with a runner on first, a run in and nobody out in the sixth. Badenhop began a streak of 11 straight batters retired before Yorvit Torrealba singled with two out in the ninth.

Leo Nunez then got Will Venable on a groundout to end the game and collect his 25th save. Volstad (5-8) gave up two runs on seven hits in five-plus innings to get the win.

Florida overcame a 1-0 deficit with a two-run third -- Logan Morrison driving in the go-ahead score with a single.

Ross hit his homer in the fourth and Sanchez came through in the sixth.

Wade LeBlanc (5-9) gave up all four runs on five hits over 6 1/3 innings.
