DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., July 12 (UPI) -- Paula Creamer's victory at the U.S. Women's Open vaulted her into the Top 10 of the women's golf rankings released Monday.

Creamer, the only player to finish the open under par, won her first major tournament Sunday despite a problem with her left thumb. She underwent surgery on the thumb March 30 and the hand isn't completely back to normal.

Creamer's score of 3-under-par 281 was four strokes better than runners-up Choi Na-yeon and Suzann Pettersen, both of whom also improved their world rankings.

Creamer jumped from 13th to No. 7. Pettersen was up one spot to third and Choi went from eighth to sixth.

Cristie Kerr remains the No. 1 ranked women's golfer, just ahead of Ai Miyazato. Pettersen's move up pushed Jiyai Shin, who tied for fifth in the open, to fourth. Yani Tseng remains in fifth.

After Choi and Creamer are No. 8 Anna Nordqvist and ninth-ranked Kim Song-hee, who each fell two spots, and No. 10 Karrie Webb, who was ninth a week ago.
