MLB: Baltimore 4, Texas 1

ARLINGTON, Texas, July 11 (UPI) -- Jake Arrieta tossed 6 1/3 effective innings Sunday and the Baltimore Orioles completed a four-game sweep of Texas with a 4-1 victory.

Arrieta (3-2) allowed just one run on six hits, walking two and striking out three, handing the O's their first four-game road series sweep since 1995.

The O's got a solo homer from Miguel Tejada and Corey Patterson drove in two runs for Baltimore, which went into the All-Star break with a major league-worst 29-59 record.

Texas got its lone run on Ian Kinsler's solo homer. The Rangers limped into the break with six losses in eight games but still were atop the American League West with a 50-38 record.

C.J. Wilson (7-5) absorbed the defeat, surrendering three runs on three hits over 4 2/3 innings.
