ST. LOUIS, June 16 (UPI) -- Jeff Suppan pitched four strong innings in his return to the Cardinals Tuesday, sparking St. Louis to a 4-2 inter-league win over Seattle.

Suppan, who pitched for the Cards from 2004-06, was signed by his former team this week after being released by the Milwaukee Brewers, and responded by holding the Mariners to one run on four hits.
