MLB: Texas 4, Milwaukee 3

MILWAUKEE, June 12 (UPI) -- Scott Feldman hurled six innings of shutout ball and Josh Hamilton homered Saturday in the Texas Rangers' 4-3 inter-league victory over Milwaukee.

Feldman (4-6) scattered four hits and three walks while fanning six to lift the Rangers to their eighth win in 12 games and allow them to keep their grip on first place in the American League West.

The Rangers had to hang on through a rocky ninth inning in which the Brewers scored a pair of runs off Neftali Feliz, but Chris Ray got his first save of the year by getting Corey Hart to ground into a run-scoring fielder's choice and inducing Prince Fielder to fly out to end the game.

Hamilton hit his 14th homer in the sixth inning to put Texas up 3-0 and Justin Smoak drove in a pair of runs with a first-inning double.

Brewers starter Manny Parra (1-4) gave up three runs on five hits over six innings.
