PHILADELPHIA, June 7 (UPI) -- Adrian Gonzalez homered twice and Wade LeBlanc threw seven shutout innings Monday in the San Diego Padres' 3-1 win over Philadelphia.
Gonzalez and Scott Hairston launched back-to-back solo shots in the seventh to break up a scoreless pitchers' duel, and Gonzalez added a bases-empty blast in the ninth to give the National League West-leading Padres a split in their four-game series with the Phillies.
LeBlanc (3-4) mystified Philadelphia on four hits, walking only one and fanning two. He snapped a four-start losing streak with his Monday performance.
Heath Bell collected his 16th save despite allowing two hits and a run in the ninth.
Phillies starter Cole Hamels (5-5) was working on a no-hitter through 6 1/3 innings before surrendering the back-to-back homers. He finished by allowing three hits over eight innings, walking two and striking out six.
The slumping Phils lost for the sixth time in eight games.
