CHICAGO, May 28 (UPI) -- Ryan Ludwick, Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina each drove in a pair of runs Friday in the St. Louis Cardinals' 7-1 win over the Chicago Cubs.
The RBI by Pujols and Molina came during a five-run, first-inning rally and Ludwick capped the victory with a two-run home run in the ninth inning.
St. Louis starter Chris Carpenter (6-1) lasted 6 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits, including a pinch-hit home run to Tyler Colvin in the fifth inning.
St. Louis got to Cubs starter Randy Wells (3-3) for five runs and six hits and chased him before making an out.
Felipe Lopez led off the game with a single and Ludwick followed with a double. Pujols delivered a two-run single ahead of a Matt Holliday base hit. Colby Rasmus drove in Pujols and Molina added a two-run double for the 5-0 lead.
