MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 2, Colorado 0

LOS ANGELES, May 9 (UPI) -- Clayton Kershaw tossed eight shutout innings Sunday, allowing only three hits to lift the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 2-0 win over Colorado.

Kershaw (2-2) fanned nine and walked three in the gem, while Jonathan Broxton threw a scoreless ninth to secure the Dodgers victory and nail down his third save.

Kershaw outdueled the Rockies' Ubaldo Jimenez (6-1), who was dealt his first loss of the season. Jimenez went seven innings, surrendering only one run on two hits in taking the hard-luck loss.

The difference in the game was Jamey Carroll's RBI on a third inning infield single and an insurance run in the form of an eighth-inning solo shot by Dodgers catcher Russell Martin.

Los Angeles took the rubber match of a three-game weekend series with the win.
