Fraser wins Ballantine's Championship

JEJU CITY, South Korea, April 25 (UPI) -- Marcus Fraser, picking up his second career European Tour title and first win in seven years, on Sunday won the South Korea's Ballantine's Championship.

Fraser shot 3-under-par 69 Sunday and finished the tournament, shortened to 54 holes because of weather issues, at 12-under 204. Gareth Maybin, who shot 72 Sunday and Brett Rumford (71) tied for second at 8-under while Noh Seung-yul (68) and Oliver Fisher (71) tied for fourth with 7-under 209s.

Fraser, who turned professional in 2002, hadn't won on the tour since 2003's BMW Russia Open. He collected nearly $482,000 for the Ballantine's victory Sunday.

"It's unbelievable. I don't know how I did that today. It has blown me away," Fraser said. "I have had so many chances to win in seven years and you just don't know if it is going to be your day and it was. I just can't believe it."

Fraser scattered four birdies around Sunday's round, opening with a birdie at No. 1 and adding others at Nos. 4, 10 and 14. He had a bogey at the 18th hole -- just his second of the tournament -- but by then the issue had been decided.

The tournament was cut to 54 holes after heavy fog Thursday caused more than six hours of delays of play.
