NHL: Pittsburgh 4, Ottawa 3 (OT)

OTTAWA, April 24 (UPI) -- Pascal Dupuis scored in overtime Saturday as the Pittsburgh Penguins took their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series with a 4-3 victory over Ottawa.

Dupuis launched a wrist shot past Ottawa goalie Pascal Leclaire 9:56 into the extra frame after taking a Jordan Staal feed from the far corner, lifting the Penguins into the conference semifinals by overcoming the Senators 4-games-to-2.

The Penguins scored three straight goals after spotting Ottawa a 3-0 lead in the second period, highlighted by two goals from Matt Cooke.

Cooke's first tally came late in the second, and after Bill Guerin drew Pittsburgh to within 3-2, Cooke scored again 12:24 into the final frame to produce the tie.

Marc-Andre Fleury turned aside 28-of-31 shots in the win, including four in the overtime.

Matt Cullen and Daniel Alfredsson each registered a goal and an assist and Chris Neil added a tally as the Senators exited in the first round.
