DENVER, April 11 (UPI) -- Adrian Gonzalez stroked an RBI double in the top of the 14th inning Saturday, boosting the San Diego Padres to a 5-4 victory over Colorado.
Tim Stauffer (1-0) picked up the win after hurling three scoreless innings of relief for the Padres.

Will Venable collected a three-run triple for San Diego in the fourth inning.
The Padres emerged with the victory even though they were an anemic 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position and left 13 men on base.
Gonzalez and Chase Headley each notched three hits for San Diego.
Colorado got a pair of solo home runs from Brad Hawpe in the loss.
