SAN FRANCISCO, April 9 (UPI) -- Aaron Rowand's infield single drove in Juan Uribe from third with two out in the 13th inning Friday, giving San Francisco a 5-4 win over Atlanta.
Edgar Renteria rallied the Giants with a two-run homer in the ninth and San Francisco took advantage of a miscue in the 13th to capture its home opener.
Uribe walked with one away in the 13th against Kris Medley (0-1) and Eugenio Velez fanned for the second out of the inning.
Uribe then stole second and moved on to third on a throwing error by catcher Brian McCann. Rowan was able to beat out an infield hit that delivered Uribe.
Renteria had three hits, giving him a .688 batting average in the early going. He has helped the Giants to a 4-0 start after they swept their season-opening series in Houston.
Jeremy Affeldt (2-0) got the win by pitching the top of the 13th. Atlanta starter Tim Hudson allowed only two runs on three hits over seven innings.
