NHL: Vancouver 4, Phoenix 1

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 31 (UPI) -- Henrik Sedin scored a goal and added two assists to move into the NHL points lead and help Vancouver cool off the Phoenix Coyotes 4-1 Tuesday.

Sedin moved three points ahead of Washington's Alex Ovechkin in the points race and the Canucks won for the 10th time in their last dozen home games.

Alexandre Burrows had a goal and an assist. Roberto Luongo was solid in goal with 32 saves.

Radim Vrbata scored the only goal for Phoenix, which came into the contest 8-1-1 in their last 10 games. Ilya Bryzgalov faced 29 shots and gave up four goals.

The Canucks scored three times in the first period, including Burrows' slapshot that beat Bryzgalov just 37 seconds into the contest.

Mason Raymond made it 2-0 at 4:07. After Vrbata's power-play goal at 16:40 of the first cut the Vancouver lead to one, Sedin scored to make it 3-1 after one period.

Daniel Sedin closed out the scoring at 12:16 of the second.

Luongo faced 12 shots in the second period and seven in the third en route to the victory.
