NBA: Boston 119, Detroit 93

BOSTON, March 15 (UPI) -- Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Michael Finley scored 15 points apiece Monday, lifting the Boston Celtics to a 119-93 win over Detroit.

Kevin Garnett added 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds while Glen Davis scored 13 for the Celtics, who used a sizzling 62.2 field goal percentage to notch their sixth win in nine games.

The Celtics were especially hot in the final quarter, connecting on 13-of-15 shots to win going away and pull to within a half-game of idle Atlanta for the third-best record in the Eastern Conference.

The Pistons, who were without Ben Wallace and Rodney Stuckey because of injuries, lost forward Tayshaun Prince to a back injury in the first quarter.

Will Bynum scored 16 points and had seven assists for Detroit, which dropped its ninth game in 11 tries.
