MESA, Ariz., March 10 (UPI) -- Chicago Cubs General Manager Jim Hendry says former Cubs outfielder Milton Bradley should "look in the mirror" over his poor stint with the team last year.

Hendry, speaking to reporters Wednesday at the Cubs' spring training facility in Mesa, Ariz., responded angrily to implications made by Bradley in an interview with ESPN that he received racially abusive hate mail from within the Cubs organization, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The newspaper said Hendry called the implications "absolutely ridiculous" and said Bradley needed to accept responsibility for his poor 2009 performance, which led to his trade to Seattle after the season.

"I think maybe it's time Milton looks at himself in the mirror," Hendry said. "It is what it is. He just didn't swing the bat. He didn't get the job done. His production, or lack of (production), was the only negative."

Bradley told ESPN some of the alleged hate mail had no postage, implying the letters must have been penned by people with access to the locker room. But Hendry asserted people often drop off mail at the front desk at Wrigley Field without mailing it, the Tribune said.
