NBA: New Orleans 135, Golden State 131

NEW ORLEANS, March 8 (UPI) -- David West and Marcus Thornton each put in 28 points Monday to lead the New Orleans Hornets to a defense-free 135-131 win over the Golden State.

The Hornets got 16 points and a career-high 20 assists from rookie Darren Collison, who tied Phoenix's Steve Nash for most assists in a game this season, while West hauled down 13 rebounds and Emeka Okafor chipped in with 22 points.

Both New Orleans and Golden State were deadly from the field, with each shooting just under 59 percent. But the Hornets were dominating on the glass, posting a 44-23 rebounding advantage over the Warriors.

Anthony Morrow was 6-for-6 from 3-point territory, finishing with 28 points for the Warriors, while Reggie Williams pumped in a career-high 28 points in Golden State's fifth loss on a five-game road trip.
