PITTSBURGH, March 2 (UPI) -- Ruslan Fedotenko scored a third-period goal and added an assist Tuesday to pace the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 3-2 win over Buffalo.
The Sabres had pulled to within 2-1 in the second period on a tally by Patrick Kaleta. But Fedotenko restored the Pens' two-goal margin at 11:03 of the third when he one-timed a shot past Buffalo goalie Patrick Lalime after a faceoff win.

Pascal Dupuis and Sergei Gonchar also scored for the Penguins, who started the post-Olympics part of the schedule with a win after dropping four of five going into the two-week break.
The Sabres got goals from Toni Lydman and Derek Roy, while Lalime -- starting in place of Team USA goalie Ryan Miller -- made 25 stops in the loss.
