NHL: Philadelphia 6, Dallas 3

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Simon Gagner, Ian Laperriere and Darroll Powe each had a goal and an assist and Philadelphia rode a four-goal second period to a 6-3 win over Dallas Tuesday.

Scott Hartnell, Claude Giroux and Kimmo Timonen each scored a goal and Michael Leighton stopped 27 shots for the red-hot Flyers, who notched their fourth straight win and their eighth victory in 10 games overall.

Dallas was led by Steve Ott, who tallied twice, while James Neal added goal in the loss, the Stars' fifth in six games. Marty Turco was roughed up in goal, allowing five tallies on 19 shots before being pulled in favor of Alex Auld.
