NHL: New York Rangers 3, Boston 2

NEW YORK, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Christopher Higgins scored with 1:29 to play Monday, lifting the New York Rangers to a 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins.

Higgins skated in from the left side and directed the puck into the right side of the net past Boston goalie Tuukka Rask.

Ales Kotalik and Erik Christensen also scored for the Rangers, who blew a two-goal lead before escaping with the win on Higgins' shot.

Matt Hunwick and Blake Wheeler scored for Boston in a span of a minute and a half late in the third period, tying the score at 2-2.

Henrik Lundqvist made 26 saves for the Rangers and Rask had 26 for the Bruins.
