NBA: New Orleans 99, Houston 95

NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- New Orleans won its 13th home game of the season Saturday by rallying past the Houston Rockets 99-95.

Chris Paul scored 28 points and David West had 15 to improve the Hornets to 13-3 at New Orleans Arena.

Trevor Ariza led the Rockets with 19 points and seven rebounds. Aaron Brooks added 17 and Luis Scola had 15.

New Orleans trailed 93-86 with three minutes to play in the game but scored 12 consecutive points to grab the win.

Paul converted a 3-point play to pull the Hornets to within one point with 1:21 to play. After Ariza missed on a 3-point try, West hit a jump shot that gave New Orleans the lead with 47.6 seconds to play.

Paul hit a turnaround jumper with 19 seconds to play, which was followed by another Houston misfire. Devin Brown sank a pair of free throws to make it a five-point game with 12.3 seconds to play.
