NHL: Dallas 5, Chicago 4

DALLAS, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Steve Ott's second goal of the game Tuesday turned out to be the game-winner for the Dallas Stars in a 5-4 decision over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Ott, who had scored in the second period, sent the Stars ahead with a power-play goal just over 4 minutes into the third and goaltender Marty Turco, who made 33 saves, kept Chicago scoreless the rest of the way.

Mike Modano, Mike Ribeiro and Loui Eriksson notched the other goals for Dallas, which has won three of its last five games.

Patrick Kane knocked in two goals and Troy Brouwer and Colin Fraser also scored for the Blackhawks.

Chicago used two goalies. Starter Cristobal Huet gave up four goals on 10 shots and Antti Niemi took over, allowing a goal with 13 saves.
