NHL: Minnesota 4, St. Louis 3

ST. PAUL, Minn., Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Guillaume Latendresse scored two goals in Minnesota's 4-3 win over the St. Louis Blues Saturday.

Shane Hnidy and Kim Johnsson also scored for the Wild and Niklas Backstrom faced only 15 shots in goal.

Patrik Berglund, Andy McDonald and David Perron scored for the Blues. Chris Mason faced 20 shots.

Most of the offense took place in the third period when Minnesota scored three goals and St. Louis two.

Hnidy broke a 1-1 tie at 2:29 of the third period and Johnsson made it 3-1 at 8:59 on a 2-on-1 break.

St. Louis made it 3-2 on Perron's goal, but Latendresse scored his second goal of the contest at 16:19 to make it 4-2 and put the game out of reach.
