CLEVELAND, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- LeBron James came within two assists of a triple-double Friday and Cleveland survived a late 3-point attempt to defeat Milwaukee 85-82.
James scored 26 points, had 10 rebounds and dealt out eight assists, but he also committed a turnover with 10 seconds left that gave the Bucks a chance to tie the game.
Brandon Jennings, who had brought Milwaukee within three points on two free throws with 30 seconds remaining, missed a 3-pointer with 3 seconds to play and Anderson Varejaoat claimed the rebound for Cleveland to clinch the victory.
Mo Williams added 17 for the Cavaliers, who have won five straight. Cleveland had a 10-point advantage heading into the final period.
Milwaukee was led by 18 points each from Jennings and Ersan Ilyasova.
