NBA: Dallas 106, Miami 93

MIAMI, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki scored 25 points Friday, Erick Dampier claimed 17 rebounds and Dallas put together a hot start in defeating Miami 106-93.

Miami missed its first 10 shots, leading to a 24-9 Dallas advantage. The Heat closed within three late in the first half, but the Mavericks slowly pulled away over the final two quarters to defeat Miami for the 10th straight time.

Dallas won its second straight and maintained a 2 1/2-game lead over Houston in the Southwest Division.

Dampier had 20 points to go with his big game on the boards. He made 7-of-9 shots from the field. Jason Terry added 16 for the Mavericks.

Miami was led by Dwyane Wade with 28 points.

Dallas made 10 3-pointers and the Heat had two.
