The Camp and Maxwell awards go to the top college player in the country, the O'Brien Award to the leading quarterback.

McCoy is the second player to receive the Camp Award two years in a row, joining Archie Griffin (1974-75) and O.J. Simpson (1967-68).

Florida quarterback Tim Tebow had won the Maxwell Award each of the last two seasons and was trying to become the first player to capture it three straight years.

McCoy completed 70.5 percent of his passes this season for 3,512 yards and 27 touchdowns. He will lead Texas against Alabama in the Rose Bowl for the national championship on Jan. 7.

Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh received the Outland Trophy (top interior lineman) and Bednarik Award (top defensive player) during the annual awards banquet.
