INDIANAPOLIS, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Indiana Pacers leading scorer Danny Granger will be out at least a month because of a foot injury, the NBA team said Tuesday.

Granger had been slowed all season by a foot injury. He missed practice Monday and underwent an examination that confirmed a torn right plantar fascia, tissue which supports the arch. While no surgery is required to address the injury, Granger is expected to be out 4-6 weeks.

He is averaging a team-high 24.4 points, more than a quarter of the team average of 97.1 points a game. Granger is third on the team with 6.1 rebounds per game.

Granger is in his fourth NBA season -- all with Indiana. Last season he led the Pacers by scoring 25.8 points a game.
