NHL: Atlanta 1, Philadelphia 0

ATLANTA, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Johan Hedberg turned in 34 saves in Atlanta's 1-0 shutout of the visiting Philadelphia Flyers Saturday.

The win was Hedberg's first shutout of the season and Atlanta's first win over the Flyers since a 6-5 overtime decision Nov. 18, 2005.

Atlanta won its third game in a row while the Flyers lost for the fifth time in their last six tries.

The Thrashers managed just 18 shots on goal in the game, but Rich Peverly's one-timer off a pass by Pavel Kubina beat Brian Boucher with 8:53 remaining in the second period.

Philadelphia's Scott Harnell nearly tied the game with a shot off the outside of the net with 2:23 left in regulation. The Flyers pulled Boucher with 1:49 to play, and Jeff Carter just missed the right post with 46 seconds left on the clock.
