NHL: Ottawa 2, Columbus 1

OTTAWA, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Nick Foligno scored the go-ahead goal with 6:10 remaining in the third period Thursday to give the Ottawa Senators a 2-1 victory over Columbus.

The Senators won for the fifth time in six games and jumped past Boston for a one-point lead in the Northeast Division. The Blue Jackets lost their fourth in a row.

With Jan Hejda in the penalty box for hooking, Foligno put a backhander past Steve Mason. It was the first goal of the game since Jason Spezza had tied it for Ottawa with 1:26 left in the opening period on a slapshot.

Mason saved 34 shots, but Brian Elliott got the win by making 32 saves.

Elliott will be getting most of the work in goal for Ottawa while Pascal Leclaire recovers from a fractured cheekbone. Leclaire is expected to be out another four weeks.
