PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- James van Riemsdyk put Philadelphia ahead midway through the final period Monday and the Flyers went on to edge New Jersey 3-2.

New Jersey's loss ended its string of eight consecutive wins and nine straight on the road.

Darroll Powe and Scott Hartnell also scored in the Flyers' sixth win in seven games.

Philadelphia goaltender Ray Emery posted his 11th win this season, stopping 33 shots.

David Clarkson and Zach Parise notched the Devils' goals and Martin Brodeur turned away 32 shots.
