NEW YORK, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Major League Baseball announced Tuesday Gerry Davis would be the crew chief for the World Series, which opens Wednesday in New York.
Davis will bring 26 years of experience at the big league level to the high-profile assignment. He will be behind the plate for Game 1 between the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies and would also be there for a Game 7 if needed.
Davis, DeMuth and West will all be working their fourth World Series. It will be the second for the other three members of the crew.
All six worked during the opening round of this year's playoffs.
