Report: Texans TE has H1N1 virus

HOUSTON, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Anthony Hill, a rookie tight end with the Texans, is the first NFL player with a confirmed case of the H1N1 virus, the Houston Chronicle reported Friday.

The Houston native, a fourth-round pick by the Texans out of North Carolina State in this year's NFL Draft, missed practice Thursday after a two-day stay at undisclosed hospital.

"I was shocked when I heard he had swine flu," teammate James Casey told the newspaper after Friday's practice.

The original diagnosis on Hill's illness was pneumonia, but hospital tests confirmed the highly-contagious virus.

On the league's weekly injury report late Friday, Hill was "doubtful" for Sunday's home contest against the Oakland Raiders.
