MLB: Chicago Cubs 5, Houston 1 (13 inn.)

CHICAGO, July 28 (UPI) -- Alfonso Soriano hit a grand slam with none out in the bottom of the 13th Monday giving the Chicago Cubs a 5-1 win over Houston.

Derrek Lee led off the inning with a walk and went to third on a single by Aramis Ramirez. The Astros intentionally walked Milton Bradley to load the bases for Soriano, who deposited his 18th homer of the season over the center-field fence.

Carlos Lee had given Houston a 1-0 lead in the second with a solo home run. Derek Lee led off the bottom of the fourth with a solo homer to make it 1-1.

Derek Lee had two hits and scored twice, while Ramirez had three hits and scored once for the Cubs, who have won five straight games and nine out of 11.

Chicago starter Carlos Zambrano went seven innings, allowing one run on three hits with four walks and four strikeouts. Aaron Heilman, Carlos Marmol, Jeff Stevens, Sean Marshall and Jeff Samardzija (1-1) held the Astros scoreless the rest of the way, with Samardzija getting the win.

Houston starter Wandy Rodriguez went seven innings, allowing one run on six hits with two walks and seven strikeouts.

Chris Sampson (4-2) took the loss for the Astros, their third straight setback.
