MLB: Arizona 6, San Diego 2

PHOENIX, July 8 (UPI) -- Felipe Lopez hit a three-run homer in a five-run eighth Wednesday, rallying the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 6-2 win over the San Diego Padres.

Wednesday's victory finished a three-game sweep.

His only hit capped the scoring with two outs in the bottom of the eighth after the contest was tied 2-2 when the inning started.

Chad Tracy had two hits and one RBI.

Two others had one RBI, while Gerardo Parra also had two hits for the Diamondbacks, who have a season-high five-game winning streak after sweeping a series for the first time this season.

The winner was reliever Clay Zavada (2-2).

Starter Max Scherzer gave up two runs and four hits in seven innings with three walks and nine strikeouts.

San Diego's Will Venable and Kevin Kouzmanoff had two hits and one RBI.

Four others had one hit for the Padres, who have lost four straight and seven of eight.

The losing pitcher was Greg Burke (1-1).
