MLB: Los Angeles Angels 5, Texas 2

ARLINGTON, Texas, June 29 (UPI) -- Juan Rivera and Kendry Morales hit back-to-back homers in the sixth Monday to power the Los Angeles Angels to a 5-2 victory over Texas.

Rivera and Morales each had two hits, two RBI and a run scored to help the Angels win their sixth straight and go up 2 1/2 games ahead of Texas in the AL West. Vladimir Guerrero and Bobby Abreu also had two hits each for the Angels.

Sean O'Sullivan (2-0), in his third career start, allowed two runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings. The Angels bullpen pitched three scoreless innings, with Brian Fuentes earning his MLB-leading 22nd save with a perfect ninth.

David Murphy and Marlon Byrd hit back-to-back homers in the third for Texas, which lost for the eighth time in its last 11 games.

Losing pitcher Vicente Padilla (6-4) gave up five runs on 10 hits in five-plus innings.
