MLB: Toronto 8, Cincinnati 2

TORONTO, June 24 (UPI) -- Aaron Hill hit the first of three first-inning Toronto homers Wednesday and the Blue Jays went on to whip Cincinnati 8-2.

The Blue Jays scored five times in the first on Hill's two-run home run, a solo shot by Vernon Wells and a two-run blast by Adam Lind. Hill, Wells and Lind have combined to hit 38 homers this season.

Toronto won its third straight and has captured six of eight.

Staked to an early advantage, Scott Richmond (6-4) coasted to the inter-league win. He gave up two runs and two hits over seven innings.

Bronson Arroyo (8-6) surrendered the first-inning homers and gave up seven runs in 3 2/3 innings. The Reds have lost four in a row.
