MLB: Toronto 7, Philadelphia 1

PHILADELPHIA, June 17 (UPI) -- Aaron Hill drove in three runs Wednesday, two of them coming on a seventh-inning homer, helping Toronto power past Philadelphia 7-1.

Scott Richmond filled in for the injured Roy Halladay by allowing a run on five hits over eight innings while striking out 11.

Hill ignited a three-run first inning with an RBI double and scored on a single by Scott Rolen. Rod Barajas added a solo homer in the second as part of the Blue Jays' 12-hit attack.

Richmond (5-3) was given the start after Halladay was put on the 15-day disabled list with a strained groin. Richmond has moved back and forth between the rotation and the bullpen and had gone winless in his last seven appearances after starting the season 4-0.

The lone Philadelphia run came on Jayson Werth's homer in the fourth.

Jamie Moyer (4-6) took the loss, giving up six runs on 10 hits in six innings.
