Reed Johnson then singled, with Lee holding at third. O'Flaherty relieved Bennett and faced Hoffpauir, who batted for Angel Guzman. Hoffpauir singled to left on a 2-2 pitch, bringing home Lee with the winning run.

Guzman (2-0) got the win with two innings of one-hit relief and Kevin Gregg earned his ninth save by retiring the side in order in the bottom of the 11th.

Fontenot put Chicago in front with a two-run double in the fourth. Brian McCann drove in an Atlanta run with a single in the sixth and Chipper Jones had an RBI double in the seventh.
