Quarterfinals set in Belgrade

BELGRADE, Serbia, May 7 (UPI) -- Ivo Karlovic and Andreas Seppi were among the last to advance to the quarterfinals Thursday at the inaugural Serbia Open.

In a tuneup for the French Open, Karlovic defeated Brian Dabul 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) and Seppi was a 6-4, 6-1 winner over Leonardo Mayer.

Ivan Ljubicic, seeded sixth in the event, was a 6-4, 6-3 upset victim to Marcos Daniel, and qualifier Flavio Cipolla surprised No. 7 seed Arnaud Clement 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.

In the quarterfinals Friday, Novak Djokovic will play Viktor Troicki, Karlovic will meet Cipolla, Seppi will take on Daniel and Kristof Vliegen will face Lukasz Kubot.

Djokovic, ranked third in the world, lost to Rafael Nadal last week in the finals of the Italian Masters.
