MLB: Cincinnati 6, Milwaukee 5

CINCINNATI, May 7 (UPI) -- Micah Owings worked six innings and put Cincinnati in front for good with a triple in the fourth Thursday, boosting the Reds to a 6-5 victory over Milwaukee.

Owings broke a 3-3 tie with a one-out triple that brought in Paul Janish from first base. It was his fourth extra-base hit of the season. Owings eventually scored on a wild pitch by Braden Looper (2-2).

A sacrifice fly by Ryan Hanigan in the fifth gave Cincinnati a 6-3 lead and Owings barely held off the Brewers for the win. Owings (2-3) allowed five runs, four of which were earned, on seven hits.

Three Cincinnati relievers combined to throw three innings of no-hit ball with Francisco Cordero working the ninth for his eighth save.

Prince Fielder had three hits and drove in two runs for the Brewers, who had a four-game winning streak snapped.
