MLB: Boston 7, N.Y. Yankees 3

NEW YORK, May 5 (UPI) -- Jason Bay hit a three-run homer Tuesday, keying the Boston Red Sox' 7-3 victory over the New York Yankees.

Josh Beckett (3-2) gave up three runs on 10 hits with only one walk over six-plus innings. It was Beckett's eighth win against the Yankees. Hideki Okajima and Takashi Saito worked the final three innings without giving up a hit.

David Ortiz, Jason Varitek, Nick Green and Jeff Bailey each had an RBI for the Red Sox, who have won three of their last four games.

Johnny Damon led the New York offense with a three-run homer. Joba Chamberlain (1-1) was the losing pitcher after giving up four runs on six hits with two walks in 5 2/3 innings. Chamberlain had 12 strikeouts.
