MLB: Chicago WSox 2, Seattle 1 (1st game)

CHICAGO, April 28 (UPI) -- Paul Konerko drove in the two runs the Chicago White Sox needed Tuesday to post a 2-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners in Game 1 of a doubleheader.

Chicago pitcher Bartolo Colon (2-1) gave up just one unearned run on four hits in seven innings.

Carlos Quentin had one of just two Chicago hits. He Josh Fields, who walked, scored on Konerko's double in the fourth inning.

Chris Jakubauskas (1-3) worked eight innings for Seattle and allowed just two hits and a walk.

Rob Johnson drove in the lone Seattle run with a double in the seventh inning.
