MLB: Kansas City 2, Chicago White Sox 0

CHICAGO, April 8 (UPI) -- Zack Greinke and two relievers combined on a three-hitter Wednesday, lifting Kansas City to a 2-0 decision over the Chicago White Sox.

Greinke (1-0) allowed the three hits and struck out seven over six innings. Juan Cruz and Joakim Soria threw a perfect inning each with Soria getting credit for a save.

Both Kansas City runs were scored by Mike Aviles. He delivered a two-out double in the third inning and came in on a ground-rule double off the bat of Coco Crisp. Aviles then led off the fifth with a single and eventually scored on Mark Teahen's two-out single.

Both runs came off Gavin Floyd (0-1), who allowed six hits and struck out nine over seven innings.

The teams have split two games since the first of their three-game, season-opening series was postponed Monday because of inclement weather.

Two of Chicago's hits came from Jermaine Dye. He singled in the second and seventh innings.
