The Flames also jumped past idle Chicago, which had started the night in fourth place in the Western Conference.

Dallas, which has lost eight of nine games, was virtually eliminated from playoff contention.

Jarome Iginla and Craig Conroy scored for the Flames, who have won two of three. Conroy delivered the game-winning goal with 7:39 left in the second period.

The Stars' goal came from Fabian Brunnstrom just 3:02 into the contest.

The teams split their four meetings this season.
