COL FB: Texas 24, Ohio State 21

GLENDALE, Ariz., Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Colt McCoy and Quan Cosby connected on a 26-yard TD play with 16 seconds left Monday night and No. 3 Texas beat No. 10 Ohio State 24-21 in the Fiesta Bowl.

The game-winning touchdown came less than 2 minutes after Daniel Herron's 15-yard TD run put the Buckeyes (10-3) ahead 21-18. McCoy -- who was named MVP of the game -- drove the Longhorns 78 yards on 11 plays to the winning score, capping a night in which he went 41-of-58 passing for 414 yards, two TDs and an interception, and also ran for a touchdown.

Cosby had 14 catches for 171 yards and two scores for Texas (12-1).

Heron's touchdown capped a 15-0 run that gave Ohio State the lead with 2:05 to play.

Ohio State quarterback Todd Boeckman was 5-for-12 passing for 110 yards and one touchdown. Terrell Pryor, who splits quarterback duties with Boeckman, was 5-of-13 for 66 yards.

Pryor also picked up 78 yards rushing on 15 carries. Chris "Beanie" Wells rushed for 106 yards on 16 carries for Ohio State before leaving the game with an injury in the second half.

The loss was the Buckeyes' third consecutive setback in a BCS bowl game.
