NBA: Detroit 88, Los Angeles Clippers 87

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Detroit got its final points on a goaltending violation in an 88-87 victory Sunday over the Los Angeles Clippers -- the Pistons' seventh consecutive win.

The Clippers' Eric Gordon, who led all scorers with 31 points, was called for the violation with 2.8 seconds to play on a drive to the basket by the Pistons' Allen Iverson.

Gordon then took the inbounds pass and fired a shot that bounced off the back of the rim.

The Pistons' Rodney Stuckey scored 24 points, Tayshaun Prince added 20, and Iverson contributed 18 points and 10 assists.

Steven Novak scored 15 points, and Marcus Camby posted 13 points and 20 rebounds for the Clippers, who have dropped seven in a row.

Detroit has beaten the Clippers 12 consecutive times since Nov. 3, 2002.
