MEMPHIS, Dec. 26 (UPI) -- O.J. Mayo made two free throws with a second to play Friday and the Memphis Grizzlies survived a three-point attempt at the buzzer to defeat Indiana 108-105.
Mayo scored 18 points, claimed eight rebounds and handed out seven assists. Hakim Warrick contributed 21 points off the bench in helping the Grizzlies halt a four-game losing streak.
Indiana, which has lost three out of four, got 28 points from Marquis Daniels and 26 from Danny Granger.
The Pacers trailed by five with 2 minutes remaining, but closed within 106-105 with 1:12 to play on a layup by Jarrett Jack.
Mayo then missed a shot, giving Indiana a chance to take the lead. But Jack turned the ball over and Mayo was fouled. His two free throws gave Memphis a three-point lead and an attempt to tie the game by Travis Diener failed to go as the buzzer sounded.
Indiana had won eight of these team's last 11 meetings.
